Welcome Baby Samuel!

One of the benefits of living close to my sister is getting to meet my newest little nephew within an hour of his birth! He is such a sweet, chubby thing and I couldn't get enough of holding him. Welcome to the family Samuel! We're so happy to have you here!

A Visit From Grandma and Granpa Carlile

Since it has only been a month since their visit, I figured it was time to post some pictures of the fun we had when Grandma and Grandpa came to see us.
We fed the ducks at Shelley Lake.
Made a trip to Marbles Kids Museum. I love this picture because you can just see Abe's head peeking over the top of the ramp.
Grandpa and Abraham. Grandma with Tyler.
We also went to the Durham Science Musuem. We had such a great time there. Abraham especially loved the bugs room and butterfly house. I shouldn't look so happy next to so many coachroaches. I guess maybe I'm happy they are here and not in my house.

Myself and the kiddos enjoying the peaceful butterfly house.

One of my favorite pictures. Abraham got to choose one person to ride with him on the train and he didn't even hesitate to pick Grandma. They are both so happy.

A wonderfully nice woman offered to take a picture of all of us. I'm glad she did, it is the only one we got.

Abraham and Tyler both loved getting their daily suprises from Grandma. It was so nice to spend time with them and for our kids to get to know their Grandparents better.

Thanks for coming to visit! We love you!

Get Better Soon Grandpa & Grandma!

I'm sure most people who read this blog have heard that my parents were in a motorcycle accident on Memorial Day. Things were pretty scary for awhile, but fortunately they are both on the road to recovery. It will be a painful road, but we are grateful that things were not worse. Inspired by a recent video we put together for our Twilight party and in honor of my Dad's release from the hospital we put together a little welcome home video for my Mom and Dad.

We love and miss you guys!!! Feel better soon.

Lost

The first gift I ever bought Ken was for his birthday when we were first dating. It was Season One of Lost on DVD. We watched it together and became instant devoted fans. We were sad to see the series end, and celebrated the finale with a few friends. Of course, that means decorations, costumes, and food. The decorations and costumes are self explanatory (especially to Lost fans) and since we couldn't find any Dharma initiative food lying around, we made tropical smoothies with little umbrellas, so we could pretend we were on an island too. I also made homemade girl scout cookies (samoas), but they weren't relevant to Lost at all, just really tasty. Goodbye Lost. Your ending was terrible, but the ride was great.
